Simply Pure was brought to life in 2010 as one of the first cannabis edible companies in the area. Eventually, we became the very first black and veteran-owned dispensary in not just Denver, but the entire nation. This positioned us as a socially equitable name in the cannabis space. However, our mission has always been to support others just like us in Denver. Take a look at what sets us apart as a black owned dispensary in Denver.
When you stop in for a visit at Simply Pure, you will find one of the best collections of cannabis flower and pre-rolls in Denver, as well as edibles, tinctures, extracts, and much more. We feature only the top, most trusted brands to ensure every customer has access to the best products. However, we also use our position to provide support to other brands owned by veterans, Black Americans, and women.
Customers who prefer to shop for black-owned or women-owned brands can easily navigate to displays that highlight these products in our dispensary. We also continually feature and promote some of the up-and-coming brands brought to life by people who often come from underrepresented communities or unfairly stigmatized backgrounds.
Despite progress, racial bias in terms of cannabis arrests is still an issue in this country. Women who use cannabis are also more likely to be unfairly judged by their peers and underrepresented in the cannabis industry. Therefore, getting started in the industry can be tough, and we’re proud to offer our support to these groups in any way that we can.
Simply Pure’s founders, CEO Wanda James and COO Scott Durrah, have dedicated 14 years to challenging the stigma surrounding cannabis. They’ve remained on a mission of advocating for Black ownership and inclusion and reshaping the American cannabis landscape to be an inclusive entity with respect for every individual.
Grounded in their own experiences as medical cannabis patients, they deeply respect their customers as catalysts for progressive change. Whether customers come to Simply Pure to make purchases or seek knowledge, the dispensary aims to provide a sense of care, recognition as valued community members, and empowerment to become advocates for cannabis.
